Ukiyo-e Vision - The immersive art experience
Ukiyo-e Vision - The immersive art experience is inspired by the extraordinary expressiveness and modernity of Ukiyo-e printmaking. The creative team of the exhibition, Danny Rose Studio extracted classic elements from Ukiyo-e works and constructed a light and shadow space full of metaphors and poetry, allowing the audience to enter a floating art world, as if traveling through different moments, a world of mountains, seas and souls, and experiencing a fully immersive feast for the senses.
Through researching the diversity, richness and modernity of ukiyo-e paintings, the creative team utilizes digital light and shadow technology to capture the soul and essence of the paintings for the audience: the ephemeral beauty of landscapes and cherry blossoms transforms into a mysterious forest, inhabited by demons and monsters from folklore; followed by Katsushika Hokusai's earth-shattering “The Great Wave of Kanagawa,” accompanied by Debussy's “The Sea;” the peacock light casts shadows at night, and our minds The lanterns cast shadows in the night, and our minds drifted along with these bright and dim lanterns in the breeze until they were out of sight.
The exhibition features more than 400 of the most important ukiyo-e masterpieces from 20 museums around the world, including works by Katsushika Hokusai, Kitagawa Gomaro, Kokubo Kagawa, Hiroshige Kagawa, Hiroshi Yoshida, Kawase Bashizu, Fish House Kitsukei, Kiichi Suzuki, Hiroshige Ando, Shisetsugu, and Tsuchiya Mitsuyoshi, among others.
Endless Change - A Sensory Journey into the Continuous Change of Matter
Endless Transformation is an original immersive digital artwork created by DANNY ROSE Studio that crosses the boundaries between art and science. This experiential artwork immerses the viewer in the fascinating metamorphosis of matter: from solid, to liquid, to gas, and ultimately to the mysterious plasma state of endless change. The work transforms the structure of matter into a dynamic sculpture of light, oscillating gracefully between the order of harmony and the abyss of imbalance.
Designed in collaboration with Labex PLAS@PAR at theSorbonne University of Paris, the work has been presented at the Centre Georges Pompidou in Paris and at the INSIDE digital art space at the TEMPLE OF LIFHT in Shanghai, has been awarded the AEAF Australian Visual Effects and Animation Festival 2022 - the “Live Installation and Projection”. Gold Medal in the “Live Installation and Projection” category at the AEAF Australian Visual Effects and Animation Festival 2022.
