This year marks the 50th anniversary of the friendship between Shanghai and Osaka, in order to strengthen the friendly exchanges between the two cities and enhance the exchanges and mutual understanding between young people, the Foreign Affairs Office of the Shanghai Municipal People's Government and the Osaka Municipal Government co-sponsored the “the 50th Anniversary of Shanghai-Osaka Friendship City Youth Painting Exchange Exhibition”.

　　The exhibition was held at the World Expo Museum from November 12 to December 7, 2024. 51 paintings by young people were displayed, and the exhibition featured students from the two cities working together to depict the city's humanistic landscapes and beautiful life.

Connecting Two Cities in Friendship with Paintings

　　In the exhibition, there were Osaka students' paintings of Shanghai and Shanghai students' paintings of Osaka, using the colorful paintings as a link to know each other and empathize with each other in the embrace of culture and art.

Expo 2025 Osaka Mascot "MYAKU-MYAKU" is here!

　　As the countdown to the opening of the Osaka World Expo 2025 began, the Expo mascot “MYAKU-MYAKU” became the main character in the second part of the exhibition, drawn by students from both cities.

Expo 2025 Osaka

　　Under the theme of “Designing Future Society for Our Lives,” Expo 2025 Osaka will explore ways to realize a sustainable society, centering on the two main themes of “Various Ways of Healthy Living” and “Sustainable Socio-Economic Systems”. To create a “Laboratory for the Future Society” for the verification of new technologies and systems. The periphery of the arena is designed with a wooden circular cloister, and when you climb up to the roof of the cloister, you can look out over the sea surrounded by flowers.

　　The Osaka Expo, which will be held from April 13 to October 13, 2025, is expected to host approximately 150 countries and regions and 25 international organizations, and is expected to receive 28 million visitors.
