Today our journey of theOngoingHistory?:fromShanghaiToMilano? is with Pavilion Monaco! The pavilion in Expo2010 was surrounded by several circles of pipes filled with water. Inside, a real cinema seating up to 250 people presented an HD film named "Monaco, a rock for eternity", showing its urban landscapes, old streets and the famous F1 Grand Prix.
This time in Expo2015, Monaco shows how prosperity gained through the centuries can be used as an incentive to promote the values of solidarity, environmental protection and the growth of a green economy. Nineteen freight containers are used as part of the architecture, to remind us of the role of exchange represented by the Principality of Monaco, and finding opportunities for creative salvage.
At the end of 2015, the Monaco Pavilion will be dismantled and sent to Burkina Faso in Africa to benefit the Red Cross as a regional training centre, providing first aid and vocational trainings. 85% of the pavilion functions will be retained.
