Today our journey of theOngoingHistory?:fromShanghaiToMilano? is with Iran Pavilion! The Iran pavilion’s official theme in Expo2010 was “Blending of Diverse Cultures in the City” and it highlighted traditional Islamic architecture and the colorful culture that could be found in Iranian cities. The pavilion appeared to be broken into three parts that focus on the past, present and future of Iranian excellence.
This time in Expo2015, the Iranian chooses Sofreh as the concept of its pavilion, through which the blessings from God are presented to the people all around the world. The pavilion's architecture is in a form of an open structure, similar to a tent, where the inner skin is reminiscent of the traditional embroidery of the Sofreh. Its weave tells the story of the Iranian people’s food and agriculture from past to present.
